Caixa Forum Madrid 02 by leesaf Caixa Forum Madrid 02 by leesaf
Caixa Forum in Madrid, Spain. Built by Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron. The interior has gallery space, a restaurant and a pretty cool bookstore. The book store alone is worth the stop if you are in the area. This image is from the entrance stair up into the center of the building, a beautiful sculptural metal stair the mimicked the folded metal of the underside of the floating mass of the building.

Caxia Forum Madrid 02 by ~leesaf I love how the modern design and the single business man play so well with each other, the fact it is black and white also adds some conceptual feel to it... like our advancements have left us alone in a strange world... or something... thats just the way I see this interesting frame! Yeah, that was a pretty awesome place. I think my favorite part was the public plaza space it created outside, but this entrance stair was pretty cool too.

I agree, the plaza is just superb, the way it goes back and leaves all that space for us to admire that superb masterpiece. =)

The sharp angles make for a great composition. Also, the range of values is amazing. Darkest blacks to bright whites.
