2nd LT Dana Sterling and her trusty VHT-1S Spartas Hovertank (modex 001) of the 15th ATAC Squadron.  Spartan 001 is equipped with a shoulder mounted, advanced satellite communications up-link and targeting pod, standard on all -1S variants.  The VHT-1 was the mainstay of the heavy Mecha units of the Army of the Southern Cross.  It's toughness and versatility were what made it one of the few Earth mecha types to compete effectively with the Master's nimble family of Bioroids.  Unfortunately at the time of the Master's arrival VHT-1's were in short supply.

Armed with a wide array of plasma energy weapons, it's only weakness was it's lack of missiles for engaging multiple targets.

Please be good enough to comment or Fave if you DL!  Thanks!

I really loved how you drew Dana and her mecha. The detail of the gun and the laser sighting on it. The triblaster on the arm. I only have a couple problems, I wish you had a lithe more more background maybe seeing the rest of the 15th squad or the planet Earth. However I'm fine with what you drew. The only other problem I have is that you don't get enough praise for your work. I hope this makes you feel well and you do more soon. I have some ideas you might like. If your interested let me known.

Thanks for the thoughtful critique mermanwatch.  Always happy to hear ideas!

Well maybe some of the Southern Cross mecha.  Along with the ships.  I got some ideas for some characters, along with ships and mecha.  It's just some thoughts.

While I am not a fan of the Spartan-001 myself. I do find that you captured the essence of the Mecha perfectly. It looks less like an 80's Mecha and more of the modern version of mecha such as the Gundam mecha from the more recent series. The shadowing and lighting effects that you gave it make it really stand out.

Your rendition of Dana removes the child-like look that she had during the series' initial run and made her look more like the budding adult that she should have been.

If this were art from the series or a run of comics based on the series I would gladly hunt any and all versions I could get my hands on. Posters, Series, Comics etc.

This is a very good rendition of the Spartan-001 and its pilot [Komiriya] Dana Sterling, yet what stands out most to me about this picture is Dana herself, namely the slight re-working of her hair, downplaying what I call the "Afro-ness" that it had in the series while giving it slightly more of a wavy look despite its short length. This causes Dana to look not unlike DC's Power Girl/Karen Starr, parallel universe Earth-2 version of Supergirl (despite a less fan-service-y uniform) - not that there's anything wrong with that of course. That's really all I can think of to say about it.

Fantastic work.
The VHT is awesome...but I love it best in it's gun mode.

Awlays nice to see love for this part of the Robotech saga and I'm sure a delight for the Southern Cross fans. Like Leorik said, your rendition of the VHT-1S Spartas looks like a modernization that remains recognizable with its base model.
Your Dana is pretty cool too. her uniform is a bit body hugging for my taste but she does look more mature (wondered why it wasn't 20 years later but whatever) I do miss her hair looking a bit afro-ish.

I really liked that series.  I really wish that they could have added more to the episodes, but were limited by footage and budget.  Such as more fighters and characters.

Love this rendition of a VHT, and how both it and Dana both complement and contrast each other the way you framed this

No matter how much i try i can't seem to draw even though i practiced with basic artwork like how to draw a face or even the easy ones like drawing an Apple or one of the guns of an animated series. i could never get it.

Interesting technical description! Thought personally I would say the greater weakness -not seen at all in the serie- is how in the vehicle configuration, the pilot was out there in the open: I mean, a simple shrapnel, debris or bullet could get out of service the vehicle with the loss of the pilot!

As a huge VHT fan, I must say you captured it well. I'd really like to see some action shots of this. I also really like your Dana.

Ohhh...I like this.  Though I do admit I'm more of a Battletech/Mechwarrior fan than a Robotech fan, I always had a soft spot for Southern Cross.
