ROBOTECH: Recon Escort Battloid

A re-imagining of the Monocle Destroid from The Robotech Masters. This non-transformable Destroid class Battloid served as a foot soldier for the Army of the Southern Cross Tactical Recon Corps. It was neither as flexible a mecha nor as robust as the Veritech Hovertanks of the ATACs.

I remember the episode when they show up with Nova to save the day for like three seconds then they get obliterated. Only the Spartans and AJACs seemed to be a match for the Bioroids.

It's name is a Cyclpos.

Poor guys, always getting blown up about the time the ATAC squadrons hit the battlefield. Too lightly armored to face the Bioroid mecha, too slow to escape their hover fliers. Great job on the detailing here.

Yeah, I thought the ASC destroids could use some TLC.  Lots of potential for a reboot with these mecha done well.  I have a Salamander WIP, but it's languished on my desktop for some time...

The burly hovertanks had all my love, although the Logan with its ability to land and take off in a shopping mall lot has grown on me over the years. :)  Most of the regular SC mecha suits are baseline functional and utilitarian, but they lack the horsepower and toughness to make them hero mecha. Sort of like a US mechanized formation in the Nineties, with the primo units like ATAC with the cutting-edge vehicles, and the reserve formations using the modded Seventies vehicles.

I spy my with my little eye an eye! Nice picture I wonder if the Zentradi would have used that an power armer replacement? Both micro and full size. You see I belive that there were many zentraid hybrids after the war were born, and many fought in the second war. I also belive that there were many zentradi still living on Earth. This is a good job I can't wait to see the next one.

I think you have the right idea about Hybrids. There would HAVE to be wouldn't there?
Mermanwatch's avatar
Yeah I believe that there were many born besides Danna her sister, Rock and her sister. I bet there were plenty boy and girl zentradi after the war. Maybe not as many in the Macross series but more then those four. I hope to see your next master pice soon.

Damn that is awesome! You did justice to the "Cyclops"!
LeElf's avatar
Thanks! That was the idea...it needed some TLC.

Any thought to maybe doing a 3-view? I would love to give that a try in Sketchup.

Red shirt is EXACTLY what I was going to put in the entry above., You are so right. I always root for the Red Shirts...that is why this Mecha was so fun to work on...

:w00t!: Excellent detailing! Love the use of the rank insignia, and how you carried that forward to the arm, the inclusion of the branch insignia, the "eye", the thrusters...beautiful. I would base a mini squad on this (fingers crossed I get the chance).

Thanks Sarge! I am glad you appreciate the little things. My little girl (a budding artiste herself) asked why I was putting "all those little things" on it. I told her that the WERE people out there who appreciated the little details...

There are indeed! But I will say, you make it hard not to when you do them as well as you did here.
