Hey, Led-Heads! :headbang:

About five years ago, I made a list of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs (here's the link if you want to see it) The Ultimate Led Zeppelin List: 82 Ranked Songs. It's three o' clock in the morning, I'm too sore to sleep, let alone worry about getting up for school I decided to challenge myself.
I'm going to do one of the hardest things for a mega fan of any band.
And for those of you who have no idea how obsessed with Led Zeppelin I exactly am...(Which I can imagine is very few of you :XD:)
I've heard every single Led Zeppelin song ever released. Everything from their first intimidating 1969 debut album, to their 1982 album Coda released as a closing title, two years after the bands departure. But I've went beyond just the studio; bootlegs. Live performances. Writing about what it would of been like to see a live concert of theirs, even in knowing I'll never see one myself. But to capture that passion, that raw, electrifying energy that only comes from a Led Zeppelin concert...I've only seen them on screens. But the chills come nonetheless.
And with these, I've had Zep-A-Thons...which was a term Jack Black introduced in t
Since I haven't made a list in a while, here is a list of some of their most underrated and overlooked material! (Okay, so there's more than ten songs on this list, but it's so hard to keep this list so small! :XD:)

10. Four Sticks
Album: Led Zeppelin IV (1971)

Led Zeppelin IV might be Led Zeppelin's most played and well-known album, but even still, this song is a gem with a great bass line that often goes unrecognized.

9. Out On the Tiles
Album: Led Zeppelin III (1970)

I think that Led Zeppelin III might just be the most underrated (and my favorite) album in Led Zeppelin's discography. This song is heavy, it's fun, and it's catchy as hell. :D

8. TIE: The Ocean
Album: Houses of the Holy (1973),

Who could forget Bonzo's iconic opening to this song, "We've done four already but now we're steady
And then they went: One, two, three, four!" The guitar riffs are heavy, the drums are powerful, and it's just a great song that will get you pumped up!

AND: The Song Remains the Same
Album: Houses of the Holy (1973)

This song is just so much fun to dance and listen to, and it sounds like the band has fun playing the song, too. It is the perfect song for a party or a dance, and I wish it was played more often on my local classic rock radio station.

7. Bring it on Home
Album: Led Zeppelin II (1969)

I love the slow blues buildup with the harmonica, followed by an explosive guitar riff that just drives the rest of the song. One of my favorites on this album and in Led Zep's impressive catalog.

6. TIE: That's the Way and Tangerine
Album: Led Zeppelin III (1970)

As much as Led Zeppelin is known for head-banging hits like The Immigrant Song and Communication Breakdown, these songs both capture a beautiful, other side of Led Zeppelin that shows their versatility as musicians.

5. TIE: In the Light
Album: Physical Graffiti (1975)

This song is so trippy and has a far-out and unique sound to it, and even a great lyrical message:
"And if you feel that you can't go on
And your will's sinkin' low
Just believe and you can't go wrong,
In the light you will find the road."

Jimmy Page declared In the Light as his favorite track on Physical Graffiti, and after listening to it, it isn't hard to see why.

In My Time of Dying
Album: Physical Graffiti (1975)

This was Led Zeppelin's longest song they've ever recorded (yes, even longer than Stairway), at 11:08, so it's no surprise this one didn't get a lot of radio play. :giggle: It wasn't played too often live, either. Only Led Zeppelin can turn a mundane gospel song into a totally epic jam, and this is definitely worth a listen (or twenty). :D

4.  The Rain Song
Album: Houses of the Holy (1973)

This song proved that Led Zeppelin is capable of producing ballads and music that stood out from their typical musical 'style.' It is charming, it is beautiful, and it definitely stands out in Led Zeppelin's discography and is worth more radio play and attention.

3.  How Many More Times
Album: Led Zeppelin (1969)

As well known as 'Dazed and Confused' is, it's surprising that this song, with its incredible drum and guitar riffs, isn't known as well. It is a long and epic conclusion to Led Zeppelin's first album.

2. Ten Years Gone
Album: Physical Graffiti (1975)

This song takes listeners on an emotional journey with touching music and lyrics. It is also technically one of Led Zeppelin's best songs with over ten guitar tracks used. This is not only one of my favorite songs by Led Zeppelin, but of all time.

1. Achilles Last Stand
Album: Presence (1976)

Because this song was on a later album, it went underplayed and unheard, even as amazing as it is and being Jimmy Page's favorite song that Led Zeppelin has ever recorded and performed. This album was produced in a difficult time in Led Zeppelin's band history, with Robert Plant being in a wheelchair after a traumatic car accident. With over twelve orchestral guitar arrangements and the sheer determination to produce this caliber of music in such a short amount of time under challenging circumstances, it is definitely my top pick as the most underrated Led Zeppelin song.

What are your favorite underrated Led Zeppelin songs? Are there any songs on this list that you haven't heard yet? We would love to hear your thoughts. :D :horns:
