In the Beginning by LeaWiggins In the Beginning by LeaWiggins

"In the Beginning, there was the Mandelbrot." (That is what I think). This image is dedicated with respect and admiration to Paul Carlson, whose amazing FRAX fractals kept me so interested in getting this program that I finally got an ipad just so I could create FRAX fractals. His were the first FRAX images I ever saw.  Thanks Paul!

My apologies.  I just uploaded a different but similar fractal and realized I posted the incorrect one.

I rendered them all big.  This program has the capability to render big enough that you can do a wall apparently.  I looked but am not finding the dimensions right now.  Within the program you can only render to a certain size. However they have a render farm and for a minimal amount you can have them render really large fractals.  Plus when you go to the Pro version, they give you some credits so you can use them to get started for really large renders.  No, I don't work for them!

LOL!... Are you sure?...   I'm so glad to see them larger... I think I mentioned before how much enjoyment I get from Zooming Fractals... I wish more Artists rendered them larger... I get so disappointed sometimes, when I see a Fractal I like, but I can't really experience the beauty of it because it's so small....

Yes, I am sure, however maybe I should see about that!  I think one of the reasons a lot of people render small is because no one wants their art stolen, especially if they want to sell prints, you know?  Smaller resolution doesn't print well.
My main thing is that normally with some programs it takes 8 or more hours to render a fractal.  It takes right at 9 to 12 hours to render like I want when I render a flame at 6000 X 3000 pixels.  That means my laptop is running 24/7 most of the time.
However the FRAX program renders really quickly and I don't really understand why.  The ipad I have, has 1gb of ram, and this laptop I am on now has 4 gb which really isn't a lot now days.
I just love creating fractals.  Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to sell a print here and there but for me the creative process makes me happy and that was something I didn't even realize I had any talent or flair for until I found fractals.  I never thought of myself as an artist until I started making fractals.

Yes, it is in my blood.  I don't feel complete when I don't create art.  It fulfills a need within;that is the only way I know how to explain it.  You know how when you read a lot and your mind gets that sense of satisfaction, and maybe a sense of completeness; from reading, and then you don't read for a while and you feel sort of empty and detached?  It is like that.
  You are so awesome!
