I dream in black and white by leapdaybride I dream in black and white by leapdaybride
I have this reoccurring dream where I am riding in a car, passenger seat, the driver is either my late father or my husband and we are approaching a high over pass that curves in the sky, the driver is speeding and I am totally much that I always wake up before we fall....but I know it's going to happen. I am afraid of heights and especially high rickety (Huey P Long Style) bridges....I simply can't drive across the Mississippi River without having a panic attack.

I created this image to help me escape the anxiety I feel when driving over bridges. (It is actually for a project for a Facebook Group,
Project Mirah-Prompts for Creative Thinkers.)  I am a good swimmer, so the water below the bridge does not bother's the threat of falling...and because I always wake up before I we actually drive off of the bridge, I thought I would like to take control and take a dive.  I'm thinking that because the driver is either my father or my husband, I have some issues for the path I am taking and I feel I have no control over my life.  I chose this diving image because she is dressed in a nightie and looks like she's dreaming and she is bigger than the bridge as she grows closer to the water where she feels confident and safe.  Black and white means that I am ready to take on a new reality and take charge of my life, no distractions like the light trails coming from the bridge, forming another that may be dangerous, but I must break free of the fear.  If only I could survive the fall, I am free in the water.  Also, I read somewhere that water in a dream could suggest a spiritual awakening.  I am ready for the dive. ~ Maybe we weren't meant to cross bridges, but just relax and float to were the tide takes us ~

Many thanks to
WolfcatStock for the great dive image:
