Elgin in Different Eras by Le-RenardRoux Elgin in Different Eras by Le-RenardRoux
I've been wanting to do this for awhile, and a thready started by Christy-off over at ComicFury sparked the urge again. I like men's clothes from different times, although to be honest sometimes the progression makes me sad. :( People don't really wear nice clothes much anymore.

Elgin's hair for the Regency era is long, because well... it is. It's kind of artistic license that I take (I mean it's a fantasy universe) since it wasn't particularly fashionable for a guy to have long hair then. Although if any of the Jane Austen movies I've seen are at all accurate, it wasn't unheard of. I put him in the more standard colors here, though. Navy blue jacket with cream waistcoat and cravat.

I've gone from reallllly liking the Victorian era to preferring Regency and back to having a pretty good appreciation of Victorian (still prefer Regency though). I don't think a lot of people know the difference actually, but I mean LOOK AT IT.

Really pleased with the Edwardian Elgin with the cricket bat. :D haha, I just love him.

I combined the 20s-30s and the 40s-50s because I didn't think I could come up with outfits for each decade that was distinctive from the previous and ALSO something Elgin might wear. There's a lot of overlap between any two decades, really.

Again, 60s and 70s combined because... well. I don't even know what to do with them. The only 60s stuff I tend to like is more of 50s leftovers, and I don't really like any 70s fashions. Sorry. :P If I redid it I might put him in a turtleneck with a jacket, that was big in the 70s wasn't it?

80s. Miami Vice. Tada.

The 90s.... should I even have drawn it? Yeah, I don't know and I grew up in the 90s. I made him a skater boy? I guess? Ugh.

Aaaand now. Not a big fan of now either, but I like it better than the 70s. I think there is a lot of variety actually, a guy could kind of base his style off any of the older eras and look pretty cool. Wear more suits, pls.

I like how your character seems to have the same type of personality showing while in all the outfits of the different ages.

lol yeah, every now and again... I don't think I'm skilled enough to draw the differences between suits in every era, but there are definitely some nice suits these days.

:D Thanks!

I feel ya, suits are a challenge. There's little rules to each type of suit that it can get confusing XD

You're welcome!

I think the late 1800s one is my favorite.  He looks like he could be one of the Doctors on Doctor Who. :giggle:
