Such a beautiful yet deadly creature, though sometimes in life the most beautiful things can be the MOST deadly. It's sad that it bites, or i would keep it as a pet, so beautiful. The daddy long leg is also very pretty. It moves in majustic ways, though most spiders do, but more so than most of them because of the length of its legs. Did you know it is the most poiseness spider in the world but one of the only spiders that its jaw isn't big enough to bite you? Siriously, it is phisicaly impossible for it to bite you. I'm excited for seeing another, ide like to keep it. But one question, what do they eat? I'm sure flies and other bugs but is there any like, human food like a fruit or even a leaf they can eat? I don't think i can catch flys in a jar and put it in his box.

yes they are. but a black widow will only bite if provoked her first responce when disterbed is to run away and hide. although she will be most likely to bite if she has a egg sac she is guarding that was the only time this spider would ever show any sign of aggression, and even then she would try to first warn by using her first 4 legs to pull on the web kinda like saying here I am back off or you'll regret it. A black widow will eat just about any insect to even small frogs that gets caught in her web if the spider is bg enough to mess with the prey item in ?. I would feed this particular spider ants which seemed to be her favorite dish. Black widows like all spiders are predators they will only eat live prey that lands in thier web so I dont think you could get one to eat human food anytime soon

A good safety measure  We used to play with tarantulas when I was a kid livin' out in New Mexico...but the quarter to half-dollar sized Widows, we admired from far away ;)

Even a tarantula could kill me I have a real bad allergy to spider venom A common house spider would do the same to me as this widow would to you if it bite you
