No Strings Attached Features

O.K. I have a lot of friends on DeviantArt. Some watch me, some I watch. So I've picked a few to feature (pimping their work). If you're not one of them shown here please don't be put off or think I don't love your work as much as someone else as this is somewhat random and/or limited to those I have worked with very recently. Next time it might be you! Please enjoy and show your support for these wonderful people.

Two New Face Book Pages!

Journal Entry: Sat Oct 8, 2011, 8:05 PM

Two New Face Book Pages!

Lazy Bones Studios www.facebook.com/lazybonesstud… where the latest and greatest info is posted on Lazy Bones Studios www.facebook.com/lazybonesstud… projects while LazyBonesStudios dot com lazybonesstudios.com/ is being tweaked and brought up to speed.

And Anne Frankenstein – Nazi Hunter, www.facebook.com/lazybonesstud… please show your support and like her page. The art work for book one is finally coming together and should be completed this fall.  Hurray!!!

Lastly it has been noted that someone from Savannah University tried to abscond with my Anne Frankenstein story.  Fortunately I have the copyright and the version they submitted was so poorly done that Dan Vado (owner) SLG (Slave Labor Graphics) told me they were considering using their submittal as a perfect example of what not to submit. So I'm not surprised that someone stealing someone else's idea is lacking the creativity / talent to turn the idea into a viable product. Jokes on you sucker!

Thank you all, your support is so greatly appreciated ;-)

Beyond Angry

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 5, 2011, 11:48 PM

I live my life trying to look for the good in people and as a whole am very successful and a very happy person with the outcome of that code.

Today an individual 'PUBLICLY" suggested some of my pieces may have been other peoples work photoshoped as to avoid recognition. Beyond angry, livid, seething, etc. The work in question is a photomanipulation that contains a giraffe (a photo lazybonesstudios.deviantart.co…;"I" took of the giraffe at the Oakland Zoo), a dog (a photo "I" took in my office when DVS Kennels www.facebook.com/mel.smith3/po… the dog by), a goldfish (you can't see it but I used it as a model for the body, the fish is in the tank in our laundry room getting bigger and fatter every day. I've used this fish in many projects, did I mention "I" took the picture). The background is of the Palmdale Winery that was damaged in the 1906 earthquake that tore up San Francisco (feel free to search my stock that I let people use for free for this piece, yeah "I" took this picture to, and it's only a mile walk from work).

Is it just me, or should someone that has a suspicion but "NO" evidence contact you privately to square their baseless hunch rather than make a public statement planting a seed, fertilized with nothing other than bullshit? I feel like I've been accused of theft and have no immediate recourse.  At least in court they would have to look you in the eye while making their acquisition, here they hide behind a screen of electronic anonymity like a coward in the dark.

I however will take the high ground and not share their user name. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that perhaps, just perhaps they are so young they don't know any better, or maybe it was just a mental lapse that they would take back if they could (you can, step up and recant your statement).

I was hoping that this vent would make me feel better. It hasn't, maybe it will later.

Damn.......

Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 20, 2011, 11:20 PM

It's been two steps forward, one step back, but that's progress. We got the word today "PRO BADGES" for San Diego Comic Con (Huge Step Forward).

Huge applauds for Steevin Love :iconsteevinlove: for his Emmy the other day! Steevin did an awesome commission Comm: Anne Frankenstein by steevinlove  for me, you should cruise his gallery and see if you can spot it. Happy hunting.

I have an artist (Randall Vogel) and inker (Steve Crompton) in place for "Anne Frankenstein Nazi Hunter: Book I". Gary Crutchley is doing the art for "The Tale of a Well Hung Man" The Tale of a Well Hung Man by LazyBonesStudios  and I'm hoping to get Vel Zamor to do the color as she did a stunning job on the cover. Like Zombie stories? Thought so, I brain stormed a short story to Wildcard Ink, it was tossed to the mad-magician for words Paul Birtch and the art is to be by non-other than Kevin Eastman (Co-Creator TMNT's and owner of Heavy Metal Magazine).

That's just a taste of the irons in the fire. My work load is deep and I'm pushing hard to make this next year the year.

If nothing else I have made some awesome friends this past year.

I am so pleased to see my DA account continue to advance in spite of my reduction in work here. Some one, I don't know who is in for a treat, it's a numbers game and it has been teetering to and fro for about a week. Any day now, I can feel it in me bones.

To all my friends, acquaintances and watchers, thank you as you have all been to kind.

Wonder Con 2011 - San Francisco Apr 1, 2 3

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 15, 2011, 12:24 PM

At times it is hard to stay focused and move forward with so much chaos and tragedy in the world. I suppose all one can do is solider on.

WonderCon 2011 will be here so soon. Will be setting up on March 31st and showing April 1st, 2nd and 3rd. If you are in the area stop by table SP70. I have the good fortune of sharing my table with Tim Vigil this year.

After the show it seems so long till the next one and then when nearing the next one always feeling that more should have been prepared.

Year One - Done

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 21, 2010, 9:27 AM

Last week I reached my one year anniversary here at DA. I would have never dreamed of having 10 watchers including friends and family and here I am with 365. Thank you all so very much. It has been a 2 steps forward one step back process.

I have achieved some unexpected and appreciated numbers. Unfortunately with the changes in how DA analyzes views, :+favs:, etc. I only see the results of the most recent 6,000 excluding over 40% of my work. So my older more established pieces, those with an excess of 8,000 :+favs: just don't count. Maybe they will change back someday.

Hey a big thanks to :iconsomething-isme: for being my 365th :-)

10,003 Deviations or Variations of :-)

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 17, 2010, 9:47 AM

I just popped the 10,000 Deviations bubble. It took 11 months I was hoping to do it in 10 months averaging 1,000 per month. But with a full time job, conventions and writing I think I'm happy with where I'm at. I gotta give props to my OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) no doubt without it, I would not have achieved this mark. And a "HUGE" thank you to my watches who tolerated me, didn't jump ship and abandon me, you are all to cool to be true. Thank you  :-)

------------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note: Have any of you with premium accounts had problems accessing your "Extended Stats" ? I have for a couple of weeks and its driving me nuts. Not that the numbers are really important but the do sooth the OCD. Something weird has been going on with the watchers manager also.

And the Feature Game (Update)

1) O.K. there are 2 spaces left for features and times running out before I switch gears in the journal. Any takers? Come on you know you want it ;-)

Everyone please welcome the newest feature :iconleandradawn: enjoy ;-)

Stolen from :iconnoomxbass:

So basically, *noomxbass will be the first slot, and the other nine slots will go to the first nine people who comment on the journal. The catch is that you must continue the feature, putting me in first place and then feature nine other people after. This is a great way to spread art around, so please do participate!

1.*noomxbass :iconnoomxbass: it was really hard picking from the *noomxbass gallery. *noomxbass is an awesome talent, one of the people who on a scale of 1 to 10 that I expect to actually earn a living with their talent I'd say an 11. Also the use of terms like "awesom-sauce" are a grabber. Not only awesome talent but an awesome person as well.

Busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy!!!!

Journal Entry: Thu Sep 16, 2010, 9:53 PM

So Busy.

Catching up on a ton of writing,

Falling behind on my messages / replys at DA.

Attending a taping at "CREEPY KOFY" www.kofytv.com/whats-on/progra… on saturday the 18th.

Hoping to make the Northern California Renaissance Faire www.norcalrenfaire.org/themewe… on the 25th (pirate theme that weekend).

Disneyland the 29th through the 3rd.

And of course I'll try and make some more monstrosities (thats a promise not a threat :-))

I really really need 8 arms and 4 keyboards. I can't pour it out fast enough with just 2 hands typing.

Writing:
Billie the Kid (yes Billie not Billy) 20%.

Imagine a planet 80%

Reformatting to a comic book script:
Anne Frankenstein Nazi Hunter 20%

The Tale of a Well Hung Man. It's not what you think. The name is designed to make you look ;-)

Rewrite:
The Adventures of Sam & Freddy (issues 1 thru 6)

Saga of the Space Frontiersmen. I really wanted to see this animated very cartoonish but that could take a life time for me, so I think I'll rewrite it to a 6 issue mini series.

So many more just drafting the stories on. One really cool mystery. I love reading mysteries. I hate writing them as they are so friggin hard.

Wish me luck ;-)

It's fun and it helps fund one of the best "FREE" collector sites on the web. I'm a member and use it to track and keep track of my comic book collection.

If you join "PLEASE!!!!" enter SKANK as a reference. I know it sounds funny but I get points that are more or less recognition as a contributor.

Did I mention there is a Lazy Bones Studios gift pack in the auction? All proceeds will go to support CBR (Comic Book Realm).
