This is how I've done my Gumi's Jingle Bell (Is that the real name of it? I've checked on the dictionary but...)

I'm not exactly a pro on crafts like this, but I think an electric-drill and appropriate sized drill-bit would be optimal for making the hole in the middle, since it's precise and clean looking in the end. :D

That's a really cool tutorial! I would have never thought to do it that way!
And yeah, jingle bell is the word for it xD I mean, it kinda specifies what type of bell it is.
