make up artist: (can't remember, ahh!)
model: me!
This one is quite a few months old now. I love everything... except the fingers. They kind of kill it for me. They are all I can look at. WHY DID I DO THAT? Maybe I am just overreacting. What do you think?

Upon viewing the work "Sleek Sitter," one easily understands the first word in the title, at least, and many other adjectives come to mind that describe it: futuristic, robotic, synthetic and plastic to name a few. The model has been made a form of inactivated artificial intelligence, a "fembot," or a very fine mimic of the feminine comic book character "MICRA" (Mind-Controlled Remote Automation). Although her eyes are open, they gaze even at close range right through us with a hypnotic vacancy, enhanced as much by darkness as her oval face is by the snug black open hood. Static suspended animation is successfully portrayed. A match of facial features could be made either way for this shut-down android -- eyes and mouth closed or open, but the latter shown here makes the image of a hyper-modern captivating type. The subject's facial skin shows a smooth flawlessness that can convince one that any small part of it could be cut away to reveal intricate micro-circuitry beneath. However, when the fingers are examined, the robotic synthetic nature of the picture is definitely compromised. Although well-composed (four digits per lower corner) like her head, they look too plain and . . . organic. Even long shiny artificial nails or thin latex gloves would have corrected this to complete this characteristic of her. Also, the lighting appears to bathe her from the right, which throws off some the balance of white from the background, face, and fingers with the stark black of the latex hood by casting a graduated shadow on the left side of her face. So, putting the light source more from the top would have made any downward shadow from her chin invisible against her black neck. Its advantage is a trivial 3-D effect anyway that helps to draw one's vision deeper into the model's empty expression & eyes for any sign of life.
