Behind the Facemuch
wept regret
imbued
within my heart
a teller of tales
known
but not known
by faces
never met
except
in times of stories
where lyrical words
can move
disbelieving ears
to approve
such enchantments
dared
though
when the words
start to wander
even wonder
how their use be told
can it be
by some design flaw
perhaps with me
or better yet
with you
that tales
once spoken
where love upon ears
now drift slowly
forgotten
ash upon
fallen memories
truth
can hold
like the mask
behind the face
once it smiled
now it cries
