I've been embroiled in a massive project--an altered book--for months and months. It didn't start out like that, but it turned into one of those "art heals" things along the way. If you have things to think about, I suggest you try your hand at an altered book. If you've never done one, I've written a bunch of tutorials on how to get started with the prep and the structure on my blog at http://lauratringaliholmes.blogspot.com. Okay, it's a little intense over there--I won't dissemble. There are 10 parts to the "Don't Get Jittery On Me" blog series in all and not all are about technique. Some are about that aforementioned "art heals" thing. Yo
What can you do with a big stack of old Sears archery targets from the 1960s? Why, collage them, of course. So I sent out over 150 targets to artists far and wide. You can see what's happening with them here, and join the group if you like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/161991817319872/members/
The backstory on how I came upon the targets and why I decided to send them around the world is explained on the brand-new blog for the project: http://thetargetpracticeproject.blogspot.com. Just click on the "About the Project" tab. There are details for joining the project there, too.
Hope you enjoy.
Live now in blogland. Been working on this altered book for a while but only realized today how the art is addressing the demons. Oh, the miracle of consciousness!
