Looking past the screen of her laptop, Heather glanced toward the young woman working the register. Last weekend, the two had gotten together as friends to drink and chat. Things ended up getting complicated after that, though, what with the kissing and then her ex showed up the next day and he just made things more difficult for everyone, well meaning though he may have been.
