Grave of the Stingray

Mixed media: pen, watercolor, and gouache on brown toned illustration paper. 

Hug Point, Oregon Coast, USA. At the foot of this cliff, between the waterfall and the cave, lay the body of a stingray greyer than the sand. Later, looking up, I saw a grey rock anomaly in the cliff face- shaped like a stingray swimming up into the sky. The earth is beautiful in a way that saturates the mind beyond containment and spills over as art.
