May 15th, 1948, was the Palestinian Al-Nakba (the Catastrophe), or what Israel refers to as the "Day of Independence". To Palestinians, it symbolizes the dispossession, displacement, and uprooting of 800,000 Palestinians from their homes in what then became Israel. Many of these refugees and their descendants, who now number more than 4 million, still languish in refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza, and surrounding Arab countries. While Al-Nakba embodies the first major wave of forced expulsion of Palestinians from their land, Israel's premeditated campaign of ethnic cleansing continues to this very day.

Philip Alston, the U.N. special rapporteur on extrajudicial executions, is visiting Rio de Janeiro to meet with political representatives, humans rights groups and family members of people killed by police forces. Today, after a meeting with political representatives, I had a chance to give Mr. Alston two original artworks I made today about Gaza strip humanitarian crisis:

I said to Mr. Alston that I knew he was in Brazil to check denunciations of extra-judicial killings commited by Rio's police, but I offered cartoons as a quick reminder about the arbitrary executions commited by Israel in Palestine. Yes, I know this is only a drop in a whole ocean, but...anyway, it was sincere. For the love I have for the brave Palestinian people.

ANTI-SEMITISM: WEAPON OF CHOICE FOR ZIONISTS

Just realize there's a book, published in Paris in 2003, called "Au nom de l'antisionisme" (In the name of the anti-Zionism), where there is a whole chapter dedicated to me and with, at least, 8 pages illustrated with my artworks. A Wikipedia entry brought to my Tales of Iraq War cartoon blog a visitor from Camp Liberty, in Abu Ghraib (!!!), Iraq, one of the largest U.S. overseas posts built since the Vietnam War. In a pause between kills, U.S. occupation soldiers are relaxing reading anti-war cartoons...
