Bad luck cowboy falls asleep where he shouldn't have, upsetting some fairies who seek revenge for his disturbance of their fairy ring.
This one was a mixed bag for me... I really enjoyed sketching the different figures. I did this at high resolution, so lots of details if you want to zoom in on fairies. Really the first time just freehanding nudes like that, it came out reasonably okay. The background was slow, and the coloring was downright tedious and unsatisfactory aside from a few spots. I wanted to make the fairies all different sizes, which on reflection completely messes up sense of proportion. Trying to consider the lessons I learned on this one, but too tired of it and want to move on.
I think lessons are don't do something with so many small elements; have more respect for proportions; leave with some confidence I can do acceptable if not fantastic figures; humbly understand that coloring is very much an art that I need to study. Props from me to those good at coloring.
I did really enjoy doing the fairies though! I have a few favorites, like zen fairy, the honey fairy, and the one who wants to put an needle in his eye. (Yikes)
Final lesson - don't piss off fairies.
