Graphite pencil drawing of two girls from Đà Lạt, Vietnam, on A4 Daler Rowney airbrush Bristol board

Pencils: Mars Lumograph (HB), Faber Castell 9000 (6B and 8B) , mechanical pencils 0.2mm/2B, 0.3mm/2B, 0.5mm/4B with Ain Stein leads.
Blending: Blending stumps by Royal Langnickel and Boldmere, cotton buds and paper tissues.
Erasing: W H Smith kneadable eraser, Tombow Mono Zero Ultra-fine eraser, Jakar battery eraser.
Photo adjustment of the photo of the drawing so that it closely resembles the drawing itself using GIMP: Removal of barrel distortion; Cropping to A4 ratio and removal of perspective distortion; Cropping unfinished edges of drawing; Adjustment of histogram.

My sincere thanks go to  Réhahn Photography for permission to use his photo of these girls,  www.facebook.com/Rehahn.Photog…, as my reference for this drawing.  His photo is Copyright Réhahn Photography.

The challenge here was getting the two portraits on A4.  I wanted to try for as much detail as I normally do, but everything was half size and there were twice as many eyes, mouths, noses and hairstyles to contend with!

An animation of the WIP photos that I took to show the drawing process is here:

Great work! They are so wonderfully drawn! You typically draw only one person, so it's lovely to see you do two! You captured their expressions so well, and as always the realism in your art is incredible!

Thanks again, and for the fave, Jessica.  Two very different girls, drawn at a slightly smaller size because of the need to fit them both on A4.

I love their glance, the reflection of the light in their eyes is beautiful, but all your portraits are touching and beautiful.

Thank you very much, Joni.  Any improvement now is very slow to show itself and I am getting less enthused to continue drawing.  I have, however, just started a drawing with a lot of strong contrasts and also a lot of varying dark tones - a challenge to render smoothly.

Thank you very much, Joy.  I hope that I will regain my enthusiasm for drawing as at the moment I feel that I may have drawn my last.  I hope that it will return in the winter.
