I thank Angyalimosoly for giving the lovely photograph that I uses as my reference (pixabay.com/en/seriously-think…) a CC0 Public Domain licence.

My wife was on holiday, having taken our camera with her, at the time that I drew this so I knew that I had plenty of time to complete this challenging drawing before she returned and I was able to photograph and upload it here.

You have an amazing gallery and a very good eye for details in your drawings. The hair, the eyebrows, the knit in the sweater, it's all amazing!

Thank you very much, Abigail, and thank you too for the faves on both this and my 'Girl with a cat' drawing.
I was a little scared as to who was adding my drawings to their favourites, having seen your username, but I realised that you must be rather like the 'Wizard of Oz' when I saw your cute animated kitten Avatar!

Wonderful work as usual. Even the detail on the woolen sweater. I noticed you use gimp, how do you like it? I am using Photoshop.

Thank you, Marcel.  Yes, I use GIMP, but virtually exclusively just for the purpose of correcting distortions in my photos of my drawings as I have noted in the descriptions, and in my tutorials on the subject.  Its main advantage to me is that it is free!  I have never tried PS.  The only thing that is not great about GIMP is the Help, but it is easy enough to search on-line to find the help I need when I want to try some feature that I have not used before.

Thank you. I can certainly tell your art is all  traditional.
Your work is awesome. I figured you would need something
like Gimp to just to do some finishing touches. Congratulations,
on your Gallery.

I must stress that I use GIMP only to correct for distortions introduced during the photography and to adjust the histogram to remove the grey-on-grey appearance of the unadjusted photograph so that the photo that I upload gives the closest possible impression of what you would see if you were to view my drawing itself.  They are not a perfect representation by any means, but it is the best that I can manage with my inexpensive equipment!

Thank you very much, Frank, and thanks too for adding this drawing to your favourites.  I was pleased with the fine hairs on the pullover, which I made by indenting with the finest embossing tool - simple but very effective.  I used the same technique on another jumper (Pencil portrait of a smiling girl from Tatopani) but suspect I used a slightly coarser tool.

I believe it is the classical music in your life that is the secret of your admirable art. IMAO as they say. I have done a bit of drawing, and am impressed at what care and time can produce. I dread the start of a serious drawing project, and so even more, find your work endlessly admirable! Please keep up the fine work.
