Perhaps you remember some weeks ago I published a painting of Karren'Rex emerging from a blizzard, which I painted after a prompt on ArtFight for their winter event. I mentioned then I actually did two paintings, not one. This is the other one. In fact, this was the first one I did, something which emerged in my mind as soon as I saw the prompt.... and which I waited with posting, not quite sure why. But now the time is perfect.

I remember it well. As soon as I saw the word "Blizzard" there, I saw a scene of a Siderian trudging through a snowstorm. It was really just an alternative version of an existing painting by FelisGlacialis, one which I really love, namely:

....but as I pondered and wondered what exactly to make of it, who to draw, it began to gain a life of its own. Then came the idea to.... have the blizzard and the Darkness around it shape spirits.... spirits who walk beside him. They are not randomly picked. I won't name them, but some might know.

In the end, it became a tribute -- to one of my closest persons in this world. He is my rock and unending inspiration. It's thanks to him I've grown so much, and I continue to find new strength and power in myself, despite all. But he, too, has his hard moments. And yet his spirit and Willpower never die. He keeps going, no matter how hard it is, no matter how uphill the battle, how violent the winds blowing against him, no matter how dire the storms this world throws in his face him. The spirits are there at his side, always. In a way, he leads them, making a way for them in this world. But in a way they battle the storm with him too, each giving him strength to go on in their own unique way. So yeah.... that's what this is about. This is for you, Jayme. I wanted to show you how I see you. Words are needless henceforth.
