Seth

So this is the second attempt to capture that elusive dark energy of Seth's. Which, albeit turned out much more simplistic, I actually consider more successful.

This is pretty much how I saw him the first moment when he appeared. Dark silhouette in darkness, subtle yet powerful energy, everything in red. Had that vision inprinted in my mind for quite some time until I managed to put it on paper, and I am glad I could. This is the right energy, the right color and darkness, the right essence, and the fact it is less refined and more "sketchy", somehow vague and almost surreal, really makes it even closer to the vision itself.


About Seth....

He is one of the Demons with whom I've felt a subtle connection all those years, one of those to whom I've felt drawn even back in my childhood, when I was touching upon Egyptian mythology. I'm not into hooman mythology and myths, I am into the real Demons, and his name simply spoke to me, along with several others. Such a feeling usually originates from a past life connection, believe me I know. But for all those years I've had a fascination and interest for him - yet hadn't conversed with him - I failed to remember almost anything about him. I still remember almost nothing. But I do know I've known him, I've known this beyond doubt.

So as I have been trying to collect some past life insight on different Demons, I came to the point I wanted to try to remember about Seth once more. When it was just as futile as always, I called upon him, finally. And this drawing is what I saw in my mind. Then we spoke. I still know very little, and I believe this is how it's supposed to be. He has his secrets. In fact, he is a very enigmatic being. Not surprising for one such as him. He is a Demon of Darkness, with deep insight into the dark and chaotic energies of the Cosmos. He may appear ominous and dark, but he is really calm, very kind and pleasant to converse with - well, if you are an ally and a friend, that is, heh. He has a bit of lightheartedness to him. Something.... so very spontaneous and.... I don't know how to describe it. As we spoke, I noticed a curious detail, while his demeanour is quite composed and reserved, as is typical for someone of his High Rank, his ears would move and sometimes even jerk a bit at something more interesting I say, betraying emotion. That reminded me so much of a wild being. I've pondered the Sha.... this enigmatic creature he appears as, that resembles several different animals, yet is neither. I came to the conclusion that is exactly why this image suits him so well. You can always know some things about him, you can always figure out bits and pieces - but you can never figure it all out. The essence of Chaos, maybe. Seth has mastered it, but I think he'd say that to master Chaos you must learn it can never have a master.

So my fascination with him continues. He remains enigmatic and mysterious, as he should be. He was happy to see me though, so I know I am welcome to explore.... as little as I can, heh.

20 x 30 black paper, 2-3 hours maybe.

Oh yeah.... decided to try enhancing the brightness of his eyes with the paint marker. It's perhaps a bit too stark, but it still works for me.

A Sigil is a powerful piece of magick which belongs to a single Demon, and it must be treated with care and respect. If you're looking for random cool symbols for your art or something, look elsewhere. Sigils are very personal to the Demons they belong to, as such they are sacred and must not be meddled with. Playing around with them if you're not a dedicated Satanist is inviting trouble and is likely to invoke the wrath of the Demons to Whom they belong.
