Jellyfish

Another different and hopefully unexpected thing from me.

My first jellyfish, Phyllorhiza punctata, commonly called White-Spotted Jellyfish. The Latin name literally means "Dotted Leafroot", which becomes them given their arms.

How did that happen? Well, every now and then I think to myself, "What have I never drawn that would be fun and not very difficult to draw?" - and this time the random in my brain rolled a jellyfish. Indeed, so many times I've watched underwater photos of these marvelous creatures feeling it would feel quite nicely to draw one, but because half of the charm of those photos is their ethereal body seemingly glowing against the dark underwater blue, the only suitable option would have been digital art.... at least that was before. Before I discovered black paper. Indeed, I had watched those captivating photos, but I'd never seen them through the perspective of black paper drawing. And so, this came to be. I intend to draw more in the future as well, it was really pleasant and while it made me examine the exact structure of the concrete jellyfish, the drawing itself was pretty fast. I hope you enjoy.
