Description
The g in Lyngen is softened roughly into y from the English "yes".
The name of the mountain range is pronounced roughly as "lynn-yen".
Words are pale to describe how it felt to be to that same shore in Lyngsfjella, almost 2 years later. When any land means so much to me, I like to return and step on the same place I've been before, and remember. But this time, I got to see her in daylight and though the day was cloudy and dramatic (not really stormy even though it somewhat looks like it), it promised to get brighter and more colorful later in the day, as our journey proceeded. And it did. It really did.
I miss you, Lyngsfjella, I miss you so much.
Moonsorrow - Back To North (Merciless cover)
View from the Lyngen coast of Ullsfjorden around Indre Berg, west towards the Tromsø peninsula.
This entire large mountain is Nakkefjellet, the picturesque east side in its full magnificence.
The highest peak, Karltinden (1 206 m) is the sharp triangular cliff which touches the clouds.
The other massive peak on its left is Musnestinden (1 101 m).
The dark hill on the left in front of the mountain is Hjellnesåsen (161 m).
This hill is the northwesternmost edge of the Southern Lyngen peninsula.
Between it and Nakkefjellet is Storstraumen - the narrow mouth of Sørfjorden.
06.10.2018, The Lyngen Alps.
