You walk along, all alone the orchard path, the hill side way to the river’s edge pristine painted white the fence line goes on and on for ever and a day do you long for… way back when you and this friend met in a secret place you are nature’s daughter concrete meets your feet skyscraper split the clouds noisy noise screams out loud as fumes stain the stoops ugly the dinge of years is it..is this… worth the subway trek dandelions pain the field bright emerald green, green grass calling out your given name will you return? Or has the lure of that world clouded your mind.

Oh, city of my birth! Jewel of the Pacific, I remember your streets, Winding like a maze, Through your many hills, Filled with iron shanties. Every turn the unexpected, A beautiful park or fountain, Your graffiti covered walls, The street dogs wandering, Looking for scraps of food. I remember your ports, Always filled with ships, Stacked high with containers, Life blood of the city. I remember your smells, The taste of salt and fish, The street markets, Selling fresh produce, And old dilapidated trinkets. Oh, city of my youth! Dancing the night away, Among your many nightclubs. Exit: Tarzan growls and rolls offscreen. There is a rustling of leaves and then suddenly an arrow strikes the camera, cracking its lens, followed by Tarzan roaring in the distance. Typically when inserting forces onto a planet, it was Praxian protocol to establish beach heads consisting of small temporary camps in order to continue operations on the ground. That was under the assumption that the planet fauna aren’t roughly 20 times smaller than what they usually encountered. Small bases that could be concealed under the cover of trees now stuck out like painted targets to enemy ships in orbit. It meant that instead of returning to a base that had areas for receiving wounded and mechanized armor for defense, Zeyan was meeting up with a few scattered members of his squad and their commander. “Where’s the rest of your fire team?” One of the soldiers asked, but he didn't recognize him, and must’ve been from a separate squad. “I don’t know, comms are jammed and our drop pods got separated.” Zeyan replied, catching his breath. Caught in a Crossfire

Zeyan, along with the rest of his fireteam and deckhands rushed through the halls of the ship. The hurried footsteps were accompanied by panicked shouts drowned out by the blare of the alarms. He stumbled as the frigate they served entered the planet’s atmosphere, shuddering against the winds that buffeted against its hull. Reaching his assigned drop pod, he quickly slipped in, securing his equipment and rifle. Once ready the door slid shut, sealing him inside. “Fire team Rima, confirmed for drop.” A monotone voice sounded through the pod. Zeyan felt his stomach drop as the pod did, a holographic display appearing on the glass window, showing a map of the region among other pieces of information. Looking up, the screen displayed what was happening above the pod. Streaks of plasma fire danced between the opposing fleets positioned in the sky, slamming into each other’s hulls. The view was eventually cut off as the pod dropped through the clouds which now obscured the battle happening
