I'm a little late this year, but it's time for me to see if I accomplished everything that I set out to last year and look at what I want to achieve this year.

Last Year's Goals:
1.  Finish the second volume of my comic: Nope, not even close.  I'm pretty bummed about this one too.  I'm not going to finish Volume 2 of Aura in time to sell copies at this year's Kawaii Kon, and it's going to be my last time attending this convention (sniffle).  I was really hoping I would finish in time since last year was so much fun and I gained so much confidence by hearing the positive reaction to my artwork, but I still have over 40 pages left to ink, tone, and letter.  Then I still have to draw a kickass cover, apply for the copyright, and go through the publishing process again.  This is because I had some serious s*** go down at the day job, and the drawing pretty much stopped for the last three months of the year.  Don't worry though, I'm back and better than ever this year... at least until it's time to move.

2.  Improve the pencil skills: I'll give myself a half-credit for this one.  I'm better than when I started, and I experimented with a lot of different techniques.  Some I liked.  Some... not so much.  I'm still a far cry from where I thought I'd be.  I'll just take it as momentum heading into this year.

3.  Buy a commission: All I can say is Ry-thae is awesome!  I commissioned drawings of two of my characters from Aura, and I still get starry eyes whenever I look at them!

4.  Art trade: No takers, huh?  Ah, it was probably for the best.  As busy as I was with work during the end of the year, I'm not even sure if I would've had time to create a quality work to trade with someone.

This Year's Goals:
1.  Finish Volume 2!  It has to happen.  I know it's going to be tough since I have to move this year, but I can do this.

2.  Meet someone I admire artistically: I know this one's a stretch, so I won't be mad if it doesn't happen.  Still, I'd like to meet some of the guys who make the art that I love, whether they're from Udon, Marvel/DC, Image, game designers, or even fellow deviants who sell at artist alleys.  Hopefully, I can be blessed with some good timing this year with my leave in order to accomplish this.

Hmm.  This year's list isn't nearly as robust as in years past, but this what I want to accomplish.  Really, it just boils down to finishing Volume 2.  That is my main objective.

Best of luck to everyone in the upcoming year!
