STORY
Obsessed with mythical creatures and old lore, Jessa was considered to be an outcast by her fellow scientists of Kolobos. While they toiled away, she was developing a way to trace the energy of what she believed were long dormant lifeforms from a past time. It wasn’t until Rain and his crew began to awaken and recruit the espers that Jessa was able to verify their life forces. With a trail to follow, she tracked the party from shrine to shrine, never actually arriving in time to witness the espers in person but still in time to collect evidence of their existence: a strand of Siren’s hair, an ice shard from Shiva that refused to melt, and so on. In time, Jessa possessed remnants of each of the espers, and she realized that those remnants held incredible power. Wanting to tap into that power, she set out to create a way to infuse her own genetic makeup the abilities of the espers. The final result was various versions of what she called “esper serum.” Referring to herself as Synthetic Esper Test Subject One (SETSO), she used the serum on herself without a second thought. While it granted her the abilities that had sought after, the espers’ power was so strong that it began to tear her body apart at the molecular level. SETSO was able to develop a “cellular adhesion formula” to hold herself together, but she now requires a constant feed of it to avoid a rather agonizing death. She theorized that her condition was due to a flaw in the esper serum, and that with purer samples she could make a perfect serum to grant her omnipotence. With that thought in mind, she has renewed her search to catch up with the ones who command the espers... Rain and his party.

Forbidden Power: SETSO uses all the serums to boost all stats for the next three turns (stackable with esper gene sets).
ABILITIES
Bladeblitz: No explanation necessary.
Energy Blitz: Single target, partial unmitigated physical damage multi-hit attack.
Materia Overdrive: AOE, partial unmitigated magic damage multi-hit attack. Extremely powerful, but if used in two consecutive turns, SETSO will be become exhausted for one turn (no action, DEF-/SPR-).
Gene Sets: Enables SETSO to assume the properties of an esper for three turns. Only one gene set may be active at a time. Activating a new gene set will cancel the effects of the current active gene set. (Buffs/debuffs are stackable, which can be really good or bad depending on the opponent.
- Siren Gene Set: SPR+, water RES+, water element added to attacks, lightning RES-.
- Ifrit Gene Set: ATK+ fire RES+ fire element added to attacks, ice RES-.
- Golem Gene Set: DEF+, earth RES+, earth element added to attacks, wind RES-.
- Shiva Gene Set: MAG+, ice RES+, ice element added to attacks, fire RES-.
- Ramuh Gene Set: MAG+, lightning RES+, lightning element added to attacks, water RES-.
- Diabolos Gene Set: MAG+, dark RES+, dark element added to attacks, light RES-.
- Carbuncle Gene Set: SPR+, light RES+, light element added to attacks, dark RES-.
- Odin Gene Set: ATK+, DEF+, MAG-, SPR-.
- Titan Gene Set: ATK+, earth RES+, earth element added to attacks, wind RES-.
