Description

Edit: Just some of the details were changed (or deleted) to get away from whole "Naruto-ness" of the original idea and give =YamabushiJBS more freedom to work with.

Name: Kunomi Ori

Birthday: October 1

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Height: 5’2”

Weight: 99 lbs.

Blood Type: 0 +

Mother: Lim, 44. She is a caring housewife who tried her hardest to console her daughter during her harsh training. She would hold her at night and sing to her while she tried to recover from the horrors of the day. Her mother opposes the clan’s tactics but dares not vocalize her concern. Ori is grateful to her mother for being her only source of comfort, but at times she even gets mad at her mother when she wonders why she didn’t try to stop the clan from using her the way they did (see clan info).

Father: Gallez, 46. A former shinobi who was forced to retire after having his knee crushed in a battle with the other Stone Village clans. He seeks to regain honor through raising a splendid shinobi who will restore the clan’s pride. He is one who directly carried out Ori’s brutal conditioning. He never gave her any words of comfort or encouragement other than saying that if she worked hard enough she would bring the him and the clan much honor. Ori tries hard to please her father, but resents his obsession with power and status, as well as his desire to live out his dreams of being a shinobi through her. Her father can tell that she despises him for that, but he only uses that hatred to further control her by telling her that it is the rest of world that hates her for being such a weakling. He says to her that the only way to prove them wrong is show that Kumoni clan is not weak.

Siblings: None

Personality: She is very sensitive to what people say, especially about her clan. It is hard for her to stay happy because of her traumatic past. She often slip into bouts of depression, and is known to be easily irritated. People with an obsession for power tick her off the worst. Her clan was persecuted due to a lack of power, and she has personally experienced a lot of physical torture to feed someone else’s ambition of power, and it makes her sick to think about what people will do just for strength. When she’s upset she fidgets with her hair to calm herself down (see bio). She has a softer side, but she doesn’t show it to anyone because she doesn’t expect anyone to be able to understand her or be able to comfort her.

Arrogant: No

Hypocrite: No

Liar: No

Cold: No

Greedy: No

Lazy: No

Prone to stress: Yes

Shameless: No

Violent: Very

Envies: Everyone who had the privilege of growing up with a somewhat normal childhood. And everyone can enjoy the sensations that the world has to offer.

Worse Nightmare: Enduring the Kunomi clan’s secret training regimen.

Health: Ori has does not the ability to feel any physical sensation, again due to the clan’s training (again, see clan history)

Favorites...

Pastime: Combing her hair.

Color: Scarlet. That was color of her mother’s hair.

Food: Doesn’t matter.

Drink: Doesn’t matter.

Music: Soft music. Anything to remind her of what her life was like before the pain. She hates rock music.

Place to hang out: In her room, but she wants to go to a big city for once just be around others and enjoy being in a crowd.

Relax: Ditto.

Reflect: Ditto.

Attire and clothing: She loves bows and ribbons.

Game: She doesn’t really know any because she has spent almost all her childhood being conditioned for combat.

Weapon: She only has the standard ninja tools: shuriken, kunai, etc.

Animal: Doesn’t have a favorite, but absolutely hates koala bears. She is paranoid that they’re always staring at her. They give her the creeps.

Object/possession: A jeweled comb set that her mother gave her on her fifteenth birthday.

Fighting Style: Despite her small stature, Ori prefers to attack opponents head-on with a barrage of kicks, knees, and elbows. Her style is similar to modern muay thai kickboxing.

Biography: Kunomi Ori was raised almost entirely within the confines of her own house, only leaving to on training exercises with her father. She has no friends, and does not interact with others except in training (such as sparring). She has no friends and only knows of the outside world what her father tells her.

While Ori may seem normal on the outside, she is has some unique traits. Thanks to her clan’s secret training technique (see below), she no longer has the ability to feel any sensation. This allows her battle through her opponents’ attacks without feeling pain in order launch her own assault. She uses her powerful leg muscles to propel herself at her enemies and deliver extremely powerful attacks. She is an effective fighter because she can attack constantly without worrying about defense. Right now, she only knows one ninja art which she uses to aid her hand-to-hand combat skills. Her Nervous Reversal Art reverses the flow of ki and causes opponents to move in the opposite direction than they intend. They often attempt to dodge attacks and instead move directly into the blow.

While her condition is good for battle, Ori is often irritated at the fact that she can’t feel physical stimuli or even remember what it was like to feel. The only comfort she can remember is the feeling of her mother holding her and crying after each of her “training” sessions, but even that memory is fading. When she’s alone, she loves to fiddle with and comb her long hair. Since it is so long, her scalp remains sensitive and it’s the only feeling she can still perceive. Stroking her hair is really the only way to calm or comfort her.

Within her clan, Ori is the most gifted of her class of young fighters, and is spearheading the clan’s plan to take over the village. She does this because fighting and pain is all she knows, but deep down she wants to find some place or someone that can help find peace and feel comfort again.

The Kunomi Clan: The Kunomi Clan was historically known as the weakest of all the village clans. They possessed no bloodline traits. In fact, most members of the clan developed lower than average levels of ki. Because of this, they were ridiculed by other clans and eventually exiled to the mountains on the outskirts of the village.
Rajan, the clan’s leader, vowed to take revenge and restore his clan’s place within the village. In order to overcome the inherent disadvantages they faced, he developed an effective yet brutal technique to strengthen the body. He called it “body hardening.” Beginning at the age of five, children from clan were beaten severely on a daily basis from head to toe using thick leather straps and 10 kilogram rocks. The idea was beat the bad enough to trigger its rebuilding process without breaking it. The result was that by the time the children reached the age of twelve, their skins cells had been completely desensitized to any stimulus, and a thick layer of scarring beneath the skin protects them from almost all superficial damage. Thick amounts of scar tissue even surround most of the organs due to the vicious beatings. Rajan took his twisted concept even further by ordering children to have their tongues scalded with boiling water on a daily basis and having all teeth removed and replaced with artificial teeth. This new generation of children has now reached the teen years, and Rajan is poised to execute his takeover.

The one thing that no one has realized yet is that body hardening has as many weaknesses as strengths. With practically no sense of touch, Kunomi ninja must be extra aware to avoid traps such as trip wires. Also, they run a much higher risk of dying from lingering injuries such as blood loss since their nerve endings don’t work. And without taste, it is difficult for them detect odorless poisons. These are all things that Rajan will probably learn the hard way when he attempts his plan.

Additional Info:
That should about cover everything. I left out the physical description because I have a drawing, but if you need one I can get back to you on that. I’m really content for my OC to play a small part, maybe as a side story or filler arc to whatever you have planned. It’s cool. Not everyone can be in the spotlight, and I find a lot of side characters to be just as interesting and complex as the main ones. It’s just fun to participate. Hope you like it.
