Evalin's RemorseAs Evalin sat staring off into the distance the tears started flowing. She yearned to see the family she had left behind. Becoming a mermaid had been her dream, and she loved her new life. If only she could have at least told her family good bye one last time she could have been at peace with her new life. Instead, Evalin was destined to forever have that part of her life haunt her until she filled the whole it had left in her heart.
Ravages of TimeMy eyes were the first to go. They'd been deteriorating since my mid thirties, and after a bacterial infection in my early forties I couldn't focus on anything anymore.
I had coverage, so I had them replaced.
I remember the change was immediate and incredible; I could see things close to me with incomprehensible fidelity, and see things miles away with striking clarity. I could make out things of interest that I couldn't easily get to, at least not in any reasonable amount of time.
So I had them replace my legs too.
There was no more forgetting why I was walking towards some far-off things that had caught my eye, I could sprint there in almost no time without even getting winded. I ran everywhere, exploring, it was a new dawn of discovery.
It was on one such exploration that I lost my footing and fell, tumbling in a flailing jumble of limbs across the gravel and glasphalt, breaking both my arms.
It was good that I had coverage.

I fell in love with the art of writing fiction when I was only ten years old, and now after a decade of experience with lots of ups and downs, I am proud to share some writing advice I hope others will find useful. I will also provide constructive criticism if asked (if you use my "Actually Practical Character Sheet" for your character, I will be willing to critique them).
I am mostly self-taught, but I am currently majoring in creative writing to fine tune my skills. In the past year, I have written several short stories and many poems. Right now I am working on an EarthBound fanfiction, and an original cyberpunk novella.
I am also a decent digital and traditional artist (and do some amateur photography on the side), so I've come here to learn from other artists, too. If you know anyone who makes great drawing or Photoshop tutorials, please let me know.
Feedback about my tutorials and fanfiction is greatly appreciated as well.
Due to my desire to publish works under my real name while maintaining anonymity on the Internet, I will not upload very much (if any) of my original fiction on DeviantArt, and will stick to posting fanfiction and journals.
Note: I like drama in my stories, not on my page. Please keep forum drama out of my comments section.
