I'm about to make some more jewellry for a few friends, before September starts
However, I haven't much time for that, unfortunately.... so, I'll just see how it comes along. And - I do want to paint "something larger" with Acrylics. Not too large - but in the range of A5 or maybe A4 ^^
Oh, and I have exams... largest project at the moment, though it's not art/writing-related ^^
My main project is a novel series set in a contemporary/mid-age mixed fantasy world. I have dozens of ideas still not put into action yet and I started to unfold the story itself since some years ago. I think the main part that sets it apart from other stuff is the strong focus on equine characters and some fantasy setting features I came up with to suit the setting. I actually kind of use the novel series as a weird way of writing a diary, too. I got inspired by Goethe's work in this case. What my 13-year old once wrote down is kept the way it is. I just correct it for plothole and syntax reasons, but I don't change the wording or writing style. I do this because I am indeed not ashamed of imperfection. Why not play around with this detail? Haha.
Anyways; I also create visual content for a game I want to develop based on the series' concept and plotline. This way, I can easily take a step back and take a glance at my work to actually see if it works how I imagined. I tend to lose myself in details, but I keep it on a good pace. Details are my quality, kind of.
You sound like me lol. I have a lot of really old stuff, except where I differ is I am ashamed at how much fowl language I used in my writing so I am changing a lot of my style and readopting it to a mature audience with adult expectations. Getting away from swearing for swearing sake. This will help boost the writing professionally as well.
Most of what I'm doing write now is writing various pieces set in a dieselpunk fantasy world - slowly compiling background information, hashing together bits of a conlang based off of Sumerian, compiling inspiration art I can point to and say "It looks like THIS!," editing a novella set in that world, reworking a novel I wrote back in 2014-15, and trying to force myself to stop dithering and post a few stories set in said world (oh god, the HTML tags are a pain in the ass!), and write a few more that are basically done in my head but actually need to be, ya know, written.
Plus designing a miniatures line on Hero Forge for shits and giggles. No, seriously, Hero Forge is the funnest tool to play with!
Also, apparently I sat down tonight and wrote a 2000-word draft for a sorta historical take on the Perseus and Medusa story where Medusa is the protagonist and Perseus is a colossal dick (metaphorically, of course).
Gonna need to do some research for that one, though, since I don't know nearly enough about early Mycenaean civilizatoon and the Mediterranean circa 1500 BC.
