So Lame *Face Palm*

Tue Jan 9, 2018, 7:35 PM
So I was talking to a friend of mine on here. She had made a drawing on her phone. Which then for some reason I don't know why I forgot till then, that we lost our phone to the tub. Probably becuase my husband is a phone hog... Its covered under warrenty so I just have to make a call and have a new one approved. I don't know when we will be getting a new phone, but till then... Now I really have no way to upload any artwork. So... Sorry guys. :/ I barely have a computer, no phone now, and no scanner. Wow I kind of feel like its impossible to replace stuff. How does anyone afford to live. We barely scape by. We don't use credit cards, we only use what money we have on our bills and food and its toast. Poof gone. I have to ask for assistance from our church for diapers. How do you guys manage? I guess most of you probably are still in high school and live at home though. Any of you out on your own?

Update: I have a phone but limited internet access at the moment. Something bad happened to my computer while fixing it. I may be a week or so. No worries I be back as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

I hope everything is "more okay" now! Hope you get back online and well, and technically well-equipped soon :)

Beg borrow and steal. ^^ just kidding.
Spend more time on things that you feel rewarded for.
Sometimes it isn't money, but if you want it to be then focus on that and don't make time for excuses.

My boyfriend and I get around ok, and it helps that before moving out our families made sure we had technology for college. My boyfriend's old family computer broke but my computer still works. My mom was somewhat into photography and she gave me one of her old digital cameras (saying that her phone camera was about the same if not better). When we need to print something we visit a friend's family who has been very helpful in giving us furniture and other things they don't often use to hold us over until we get our own. The only thing I can suggest is asking someone else if you can borrow some basic things or visit them and use stuff while there. Maybe see what your local library may offer as far as computers or possible scanners. At least you'll eventually be able to get a new phone and phones functioning closer to full-on computers every year. I hardly even see flip phones in the cheaper phone sections anymore.

So true my husband was telling me a smartphone has the capacity to monitor, launch a rocket, and bring it back from space now. What an entire building of servers and computers did at NASA is technically all but obsolete.

It's crazy how much phones can do now. When I see some of the more expensive phones some of my friends have, I sometimes wonder why they even bother with other technology. Even tablets are starting to have good pen styluses and attachable keyboards. The more expensive drawing tablets out there are becoming more like computers too. I think eventually I won't have to draw with a mouse because something common will eventually be equipped with all the tools I need, and at a lower price.

I work parttime (cleaning) in the morning and my husband works fulltime. We don't have kids, but 2 cats. We had 5 cats in 2017, but 3 of them died (one had a heartproblem and two were sick and old). We had financial luck and could buy a new laptop. But most of the time we must be very carefull with the money.

Understood, I guess it makes me feel better to know that I'm not the only one out there struggling. Maybe there is a way to help people move out of these situations. A bonded community is a healthy community. :)

My wife and I both work when we can, but even still we have a pair of credit cards.
Have you considered the Bishops storehouse? You repay in service when you can and it can help get you on your feet.

Yeah we're doing that for diapers and small things we can't get on food stamps. We even help clean the church and help the members out despite being horribly inactive.

It's just me and the wife, no kid yet. We sometimes barely scrape by but we make donations to savings accounts one for rent and one for fun stuff. It also helps I get a little bit extra from the guard every month. We both work jobs.

That's cool. My husband had a brain injury and can't work he has a serious bipolar and diagnosed TBI and I can't leave him to watch our son by himself for long periods of time. He does try to go out and do temp work though. We're trying to get him on disability because he can't hold down a job for long. He's on a galaxy of meds the only work for a short time before we switch. It's rather frustrating at times. If I could get and afford a babysitter I'd just go work. Right now its just what we can make off of odd jobs. (I've cleaned for people.) I almost made management at Joann's Fabrics before I had my kid and I know they'd have me back when there is a job opening. We were both working at one point and it still barely helped but it was better than where we're at now. I'm just wondering now how I'll fair in a job with my new medical problems that came with pregnancy. I've been in and out of hospitals on and off. Joanns only works part-time anyway so I don't think it would affect it too much.
