Digital Art and Art Goals

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 22, 2017, 10:35 PM
So I feel like I totally suck at digital art lol. And the only way I will ever be able to get good is to spend time and practice. If I could choose a style that I want to go after it would be any of these guys. Of course, I want my own distinct style but this is the quality I want. I'm going to try to make it a habit to sit down at least once a week and work on this, for next year. I'm starting now though...

I think I learned digital art more or less by experimentation and using knowledge of traditional art techniques. I wish I could direct you to some good tutorials, but I either found my own round about ways of doing certain things (since I use a mouse and use less advanced, free programs) or I forgot when I might have seen certain things.

I think a good example of me learning digital art on my programs are my "Tavros' Head" pieces. One was made on a fluke when I didn't realize certain settings like the "protect alpha" to keep from getting airbrush outside the face, the other was after over a year of learning what all the settings were and editing the original over time.

Thank you for the advice I'll look at these later. Opening gifts more gifts soon. I'm cooking too. I was playing around with brushes and experimentation last night. So I definitely agree there! Thank you, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Years.

Practice and many failed attempts will equal more learning which in turn brings success. "Success is determined by how many times you fail and pick yourself up again." - Said somebody back in the day probably.
