I got back from volunteering down in Cedar City. I'm not sure how it went but I'm welcome to come back which helps me feel like I did something right. I learned a lot about myself both good and bad. I learned about where I am at in my life as in my head space and its given me a lot to think about and a lot to tackle. As for the good things, I learned a lot of new tailoring skills in just a few short days. I also found out that I'm not doing anything inherently wrong. For instance that it's not cheating taking a known pattern and using it as a sloper, changing or altering it to suit your needs. I learned that what I am doing is a step in the right direction. While I barely know a lot about basic pattern building (building from the ground up, I've only done this twice.) I found out that altering or changing things from existing patterns was a matter of time management that people would be stupid to not take advantage of. So I feel confident in my skills as a pattern alterationist. The little things that I have learned to build from the ground up while simple sleeves for goddess costume, and even a pain like my lingerie black swan were something that trial and error also gave me a boost of confidence. I have learned that the books that I purchased to learn these things are the right books. I have a vogue and a pattern construction book by Armstrong. All I need it to shore up my tools more and then I can start doing whats in the books. It's all basic math skills.

I think attempting a pattern build on the Necromancer has also given my some perspective. I'm learning what I can do better to save time. The dress has been ready to sew but now I'm at a state where I have lost so much weight that the pattern is too big for me. When I create the pattern at a large size, I had given up hope on losing weight. So I'm holding off on a few more pounds and going to grade the pattern down and then sew it. I'm ahead of my weight goal for June 31st. I've only got a few more pounds to go. 163.4 out of 180 so far with only 3.4 more to go.

There is a lot to be happy about and proud of but I'm not going to stop there. I need more work and there is room for improvement and I look forward to continually growing.

Also update> I was going to post a special feature for the donor artists and I had to deal with a bunch of unfortunate and stressful stuff so it got put off. It's half done and I plan on finishing it and posting it this week so watch for it. <B

My thoughts on art:
"It's about getting there not arriving at one's destination.
The destination may be important but the journey is special."

"I Am a Stone, Unaffected, Rain Hell Down Onto Me.
Flesh and Bone, Unaffected Your Fool I Will Not Be."
