The Grass is Always Greener

This is a song I wrote for this picture:

Looking out the window of this gray life,
I see a life free of strife,
but I reach and cannot touch,
We need it so much,
but it isn't really out there
at all.

The grass is always greener on the other side,
but what if there's no other side.
It's all an illusion,
a picture on a screen
drawn by a child
or in a magazine.

We just gotta put up with what we got,
take the blame for the hell we wrought,
and treasure the smaller things in life.
