My influences and/or inspirations. 
These are the shows and artists that got me where I am today. Every artist has something or someone that made you pick up a pencil and think "I'm going to draw something."
Looking back, I remember the Disney Princesses being the first people I could draw well. First was Ariel, then came Jasmine, Mulan, and so on. We all start somewhere. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask became the first couple I loved together. I filled so many notebooks with awful drawings of kisses and hugs. Then, for years, I mostly drew things from life. Whether that be people or objects, It's how I gained strength as an artist. I remember looking at paintings by Norman Rockwell and thinking "wow. I want to be able to draw people like THAT one day". Years passed and I went into my crazy Danny Phantom stage and that's all I would draw. But the problem here was that Butch Hartman's art style (while very cool and unique) frustrated and discouraged me. After a while, I stopped drawing altogether. In middle school I met my current best friend, Samantha Reynolds (Who's art was strongly influenced by Jhonen Vasquez), and SHE is the one that got me drawing again. She's the one that reminded me I could draw well (actually, now that I think about it, she should have been put on this influence map
). Then came my greatest influence. Avatar: The Last Airbender. Although Avatar is an American cartoon, it helped me discover a lot of anime shows and the art style that came with them. I never really became good at drawing in the anime style, but most artists say it's for the best because anime stops the creative flow when it comes to creating your own art style. Speaking of which, DeviantART and the artists that network here, became my inspiration and helped me realize how having one's own art style is most important. I'm not exactly where I want to be when it comes to my art, but I know, with these influences and inspirations and my own hard work, I'll get there someday.
