A Light in the Dark Ch.1 I charged, sword drawn, toward the massive dust-coloured Minotaur before me. It grunted, ripping its spear from the gored torso of a fallen friend, and stood ready for my attack. Something reached out, grabbing me with firm hands. I struggled, flailing about, trying to break free. Warm breath travelled down my neck in tendrils. "Don't lose control," came a familiar voice. I un-tensed and the grip slackened. I turned to see Brun standing close and a smile flickered on my face. For a moment I was lost, miles away. A deafening roar shook the air, yanking me back into reality. The Minotaur had begun to thunder towards us, its eyes flashing blood-red. Brun pressed in front of me, brandishing his blade. The monstrous being glowered at him and batted him away with a flick of its wrist, as easily as one would a fly. I saw an opportunity
and seized it; plunging my sword deep into the being's thick hide.
