Ask the Artist interview
Interview with `loish 10/28/2012 ~MemoiresDuneFille asks "Loish, what inspired you to become an artist?" I can't say that anything specific really inspired me. It was more a natural progression. I have been drawing since I was very young and honestly do not remember when I even started doing it, but I do remember always enjoying it and seeing it as my 'talent' throughout elementary and middle school. By the time I had to make a career choice in high school, I decided to do pursue it professionally because I just couldn't stand dividing my time between schoolwork and making my personal drawings. It was torture! So I felt I had to do it in

Midnight Ramblings: A drawing of a tree
"Come visit Kentucky," Larry says to me, and I laugh and refuse as I have often refused the casual invitation. I'm an urban girl -- born in Manhattan, transplanted to the bay area suburbs of California. Suburban sprawl already edging out the persimmon orchards and ranches as they rapidly became a faded memory of the land. Even that was not enough for me though. I left for San Francisco as soon as I finished college. San Francisco, jutting out into the bay, with its diversity of ethnic cultures and restaurants and shops and liberals and hills and ocean winds and two seasons (Spring, and Cold) and screaming trolleys (full of screaming tourists

Hey Guys.
It's good to be back. Where did the past few years go? Seems like life ate it all up. Sure, I've been posting erratically but, still, it's just not the same. I'm doing some major housekeeping on my account. Been cleaning up my watch list, mostly removing people who are inactive and such. Then uploaded a few things off my personal sketchbooks. Several years ago I decided not to post any more sketches here but I just couldn't stand seeing all that old work on my front page. So sorry about that. :P I hope to post new art very soon. Not saying any specifics yet as I don't want to jinx it. :dummy:

Hey all! Just dropping by to share with you a Kickstarter project that I'm supporting. It's a drawing book on Movement and Form by Samantha Youssef. Since I'm studying animation right now, I'd really, really, REALLY love for it to be very successful. ...
