Pagan Holiday 4: Yule

A bit late for yule--I know, I know. I got all swept up in other ideas and couldn't get this one put down on paper until yesterday! 

This is part 4 of an 8 piece project highlighting the major Pagan holidays of the year, and matching them up with characters from my book series Tales of the Fatherless.

YULE is the festival for the winter solstice. It was later reformed into the Christmas holiday we know and love! It's celebrated in lots of different ways, and (disclaimer) some branches of paganism don't celebrate it at all. But the winter solstice is THE most historically ancient and well-celebrated holiday out of all of them. 

The character I've chosen for this, is, of course, Sivandra--characterized by a warm fire, a happy feast, and joy in the midst of the darkest day of the year. 

After getting it painted, I feel like I would have liked to add more foliage and berries everywhere, but it's a bit too late. oops. ><
