Pagan Holiday 1: Beltane

Hello! 

I've started an 8 piece project highlighting the 8 major Pagan holidays of the year, and matching them up with book characters from Tales of the Fatherless. 

Beltane is April 31-May 1, and is symbolized by fire and fertility Also known as May Day, Beltane was celebrated with feasting and night-long....frolicking with your lover. In the morning, everyone would return with wildflowers from the forest. Nowadays it's still celebrated, though in a lot of different ways! I like to wear flower wreaths, hang ribbons from the trees at my house, and hold a huge bonfire with my friends where we eat tons and drink more. 

The obvious choice for this holiday is Maldyr, a man from the deep south who is sworn to the Brightswords, and becomes a major part of the story when he meets Asdair on the ship south. He's a fan of the kind of frolicking Beltane is known for. ;D
