Hello All, I am moving to Ko-fi and Pixels.com and maybe opening a store on Etsy or Society6 or the like. I'll still be posting here though. My goal is to post one painting a week and more often with sketches and WIPs. Time for me to go professional, even if it's just small time for now. :D

I’ve recently started a series of asoiaf fan art series (so far just Sansa, although I might keep it with her only) where for practice I’m emulating artists work that I really admire. I’ve started with Drea D. as it was her work that I stumbled onto during COVID-stay-at-home-2020 that inspired me to start drawing again. I knew I couldn’t continue with traditional work because of the interruptions of my beloved children and the mess that eventually has to be put away, so it had to be digital. Second in this series, used a reference by Ross Tran, whose work I also  adore! Keep a lookout for the next styles I try!!!

Back when I was doing traditional art, toned pencil drawings were never a strong skill for me. I was lacking the know how of values. I’m better but it’s still a weakest link for me. When I drew in the past, I would get a basic outline and a bit of shading marked and then paint. This digital pencil drawing was a good practice for me. Of all the different artists I’ve been watching and learning from, they all say the same thing... the rendering (or I think of it as the underpainting) has to be what you want it to be. It’s hard to fix when you start applying color.  There’s definitely truth in that, especially in t
