An icon of Saint Barbara that I painted and donated for a Cancer silent auction benefit for a friend and her family.

I am learning to use faux gold leaf now... paint is acrylics.

Thanks... I wish the gold leaf turned out nicer but time was of the essence .. Im going to monkey around with sanding the wood finer (especially around the edges), then adding a layer of non-acrylic gesso so I can smooth it out with steel wool and then applying the bole with a good burnishing once dry... which Im thinking of creating my own recipe of bole... projects, projects, projects.
