This week's creature feature is: Djinn
From Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Djinn :
In Islam, a Djinn (also jinn, genie) is a supernatural creature which occupies a parallel world to that of mankind.
The word genie derives from Latin genius, which meant a sort of tutelary or guardian spirit thought to be assigned to each person at their birth. English borrowed the French descendent of this word, génie; its earliest written attestation in English, in 1655, is a plural spelled genyes. The French translators of The Book of One Thousand and One Nights used génie as a translation of jinnī because it was similar to the Arabic word in sound and in meaning. This use was also adopted in English and has since become dominant.
In other cultures, as in the Mythology Guanche (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain), also existed the belief in beings that qualify as genies, such as the so-called Gods paredros or Maxios (domestic spirits and nature), the Tibicenas (evil genies) and also demon Guayota (aboriginal god of evil) that, like the Arabic Iblis, is sometimes identified with a genie.
The evil "Ifrit" are called the seed of Iblees in One Thousand and One Nights. The Spirit of the Lamp in the story of Aladdin, a familiar djinn to the Western world, was such a jinni, having been bound to an oil lamp.

Inactivity
As you probably noticed, I'm not really active on here very much right now (I'm always logged in, so even if it says I'm here I'm probably not).
Nothing awful going on, just lots of things keeping me busy. So I'll be flitting in every now and then to weed through messages, but I'm basically taking a break from DA for a little while.
Take care, everyone!

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter, everyone! Take just a moment today to remember what the holiday is about, it's easy to forget the triumphant story when surrounded by chocolate bunnies XD

I haven't really done much in the way of art for awhile, but I thought I would go ahead and upload what I have done. Expect random updates here and there while I upload everything whenever I get a spare moment! XD
