I smiled back but he turned away.
My world crashed down,
I wandered off ,
Wondering if he ever really cared for me.Looking back sadly
I saw him turn and smile again
I smiled back and he did not turn
He winked at me and wandered offMy heart was light
My feelings cheerier
The whole world seemed much brighter
Thanks to his beautiful smileI danced and twirled
Caring not for the passer-bys
He cared for me
And that was all I wanted to know.Months passed,
Holidays came and...

He turned and smiled at me today,
I smiled back but he turned away.
My world crashed down,
I wandered off ,
Wondering if he ever cared for me.
Looking back sadly
I saw him turn and smile again
I smiled back and he did not turn
He winked at me and wandered off
My heart was light
My feelings cheerier
The whole world seemed much brighter
Thanks to his beautiful smile
I danced and twirled
Caring not for the passer-bys
He cared for me
And that was all I wanted to know.
Months passed,
Holidays came and went,
A new year had started.
And I would see him again.
I greeted him with a cheerful wave,
He waved back reluctantly
And walked on
I wanted him to know I loved him
I hurried over to his side and confessed
Confusion crept up his handsome face
Eyebrows knitted in a frown
I was left standing there
Whilst he ran off into the rain.
He never spoke to me again
I was puzzled and wondered
I wondered how,
I wondered why
Try as I might,
I never knew.
Why did he change?
The happiness faded from my eyes
The light was gone from my heart
He faded from my life
But still it hurt to think of him
Even though I never saw him again….
