Description

Deep within the velvety blackness the hint of motion forces the hairs to rise on the back of my neck. Does it slither? Does it flap? Claws and teeth and … perhaps I am just getting ahead of myself? Like a child with an overactive imagination. The clothing on the chair isn’t a monster after all.

Your objective is to create a single full-page imagine in ComiPo with rich shadows to show us what you believe is lurking in the darkness just at the edge of sight.

You will be judged on:
Your use of depth of field.
Visibility of the dark elements.
Creativity.
Expression of your Narrative within the picture.

Because we have such a mixed group of old hat and new users I am asking people to self-identify as either NOVICE or ADEPT based on what you believe is your skill level. There will be a winner for each category. Please see the rules for more information on how I intend to handle the judging of this split.

I look forward to all the wonderful stories you are going to have for us.

RULES:
1) One entry per person, entry can be changed as many times as the person likes before the deadline.

2) Entry must be a full page style: Letter or Landscape

3) Entry must be mainly made in ComiPo. Photo editing is allowed but cannot make up more than 10% of your image.

4) Character(s) may be used in the entry.

5) Do not steal or copy someone else’s work.

6) Enter finished pieces by uploading them to Steam’s ComiPo Community Artwork and placing a copy of the link location to this post as a comment on the steam forum: steamcommunity.com/app/262490/… . When you submit your entry please say “NOVICE” or “ADEPT” based on which category you believe you should be judged under.

-- Judge’s Prerogative: You may sign up as a NOVICE but if the skill you display is closer to the level of an ADEPT you will be messaged, and your category changed. However, if you sign up as an ADEPT your level will not be changed based on your shown skill level.

-- If you do not comment on the skill level you think you should be grouped with you will be judged based on the skill level displayed.

7) Messaging the judge(s) in any way, shape, or form to have me critique, judge, or inform you of your likelihood of winning before the winners are announced will be grounds for disqualification.

-- Sending me a Friend request does not count towards disqualification as we must be friends on Steam for me to gift games.

8) Out of respect for all participating please don’t post your own personal judgment of who you think should win or place the contest. It could lead to hurt feelings if the official judge(s) disagree with your ruling.

9) Speed Creates are allowed as attachments to final works & encouraged but not required.
