Being a 'dark artist' myself, it always bugged me having to submit my art (which is usually some kind of macabre creature) to the "Fantasy" section. Monsters and such-like shouldn't be lumped in with faeries and elves. (Not that there's anything wrong with faeries and elves, mind you.) Anyway, now these wonderfully frightful sculpts have a place of their own just like Surreal, Abstract , Lego, etc., art does. Next time you submit a scary piece of work, remember to click on the Sculpture Gallery's "Horror" option!Site Header

Just wanted to thank everyone for all the comments, watches, and notes and I would like to apologize for the lack of communication on my part. There has been a lot going on for me in the recent past--of course, there was Halloween which is the busiest time of year for me with the walk through haunt and, as usual, the weather REALLY did a number on us this year. Took about two months to set up the haunt in the woods but since Mother Nature decided to send us a HURRICANE the weekend of the haunt, we only managed to run the haunt one night. Just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to read and comment on my last journal. I think our concerns were duly noted since there have been a good number of sculpture DD's recently. I've been trying to remain patient and open minded concerning the state of sculpture on dA. When I departed from my 'post' in April, I felt more than a bit guilty but in my defense, I had stayed on much longer than what I originally signed up for. I simply needed a break. Anyway, I recently discovered that the Traditional Art and the Artisan Craft moderators have been doing their best to cover sculpture as well as their own galleries and I commend their efforts. Just thought I'd pass along a little info for those of you who enjoy the creepier, darker side of things...
For the entire month of June, the #dA-Morgue group is focusing on the bloodiest, most grotesque horror art dA has to offer and has created a gallery to showcase some very nasty and gory stuff.
