Awwwh, so cute  Like how you presented the issue in such a positive and wholesome way that still reminds us of our responsibility (unless I'm reading too much into things haha). Anyway, would love to see it coloured!

You're not reading too much, that was exactly the point !
Whether we like it or not, we changed our world and future generations will have to adjust to that...

For sure. And it isn't even 'if we stay our course, we'll have an ecological disaster on our hands', it's we are currently experiencing ecological disaster, we're heading to a critical juncture in a decade whatever we do because we've already been doing all of the damage these past decades, just waiting for it all to catch up on us. It's very sobering.

Meanwhile, the politics still blame individuals ("you should pee in the shower, grow organic tomatoes and use a tote bag!") and does almost nothing to regulate CO2 production by industry. That's just useless marketing to keep people from understanding too much of what is going on (I'm not saying individuals shouldn't bother trying to reduce their impact, but that will never be enough to make a real difference if there is no global political action)

It's hard. Extremely hard. Not to make excuses, but concerted actions require sacrifice and there are often more pressing matters at stake that requires money, effort, time and the sustained political will necessary to realize true change on a problem that is, for all intents and purposes, not immediate enough yet

And sure, the industry is by far the worst offender, but a third of all CO2 is emitted by manufacturing industries. There are inefficiencies there, sure. But ultimately these are industries that produce energy that we consume, materials that we use to build and the food that we consume. It does boil down to the fact that we, as individuals, all benefit from eating less, buying less and producing less waste. Boycott the companies that don't innovate and continue to pollute and support green alternatives that are more expensive. And we have made changes. We have started caring about this and in answer, green is becoming an economically viable strategy for companies in a lot of countries.

But it's hard. We have mortgages to pay, kids to feed and medical bills to cover. We cannot always make the rights choices. I certainly don't. Stretch this familiar struggle to a global geopolitical scale, and you have nations dealing with other nations where long historical conflicts are at play, economic imbalances that make cooperation unequal and laws that do not conform to one another, governments that steers the ship in a new direction after every new election. Complacency is easy, staying the course, keeping the scale small and manageable is easy. To sacrifice sovereignty to join in an international union invites maladies too and weakens the power necessary to press on. Change is therefore always slow. It's just too bad that we're dooming ourselves in the process.

Sorry, didn't mean to rant. And I definitely don't advocate for anarchy or authoritarianism, just frustrated I guess.
