Unassuming Town by Kyomu Unassuming Town by Kyomu
For a pet project I'm collaborating on with *lychi. Our little steam-punk fantasy world. Looks can be deceiving.

I'm guessing the figures in the foreground have a Merlin-Arthur/teacher student dynamic. Like contrast between dark foreground frame and light background. Good sense of depth.

I love this picture, but I can't help but wonder just for fun... am I the only one who thinks that little blonde boy looks like Ramza from Final Fantasy: Tactics??? <3

I have always liked the idea of looking into a brilliantly sunny area from a dark vantage point.
All of your work is so inspiring. :)

STEAMPUNK IS THE BEST!!! This looks truly awesoomee! Fabulous! Looks to me like a mix between a French or German village, with a little bit of Oriental look -judging the designs of the clothing ^^,

Another excellent piece from you~, I have to ask, do you just do all of your painting with the default brushes, such as the hard brush and soft brush, or do you have your own custom brush set?

I like how everything's nice and crisp looking. Also how the somewhat simple look of each individual piece combines and makes it into a cool detailed scenery.

Great colors as usual~! How do you manage to keep straight lines though? Especially when doing long diagonals on buildings? Previous to CS4, I couldn't do it. I'm thinking I might have to work smaller, or something. TT;

Line tool... or click shift with the paint brush. Line tool tends to look a bit too stiff but it's nice to get a clean straight edge. I guess it helps that I have a vanishing point to work from too. XD;
