As soon as I saw Elementary I knew I had to draw this idea.
While I certainly don't feel the need to mention how much I love Sherlock, I want to point out that I really like Elementary too. I was prepared to hate it as Sherlock was done so brilliantly but it's really well written and I've been a big Jonny Lee Miller fan since Eli Stone.

For the record I know it seems I have a man fighting a woman with the Watson vs Watson bit at the end but I personally feel if this really happened that Joan would totally kick John's ass. Did you see Kill Bill and The Man with the Iron Fists?

This is so great; yes, definitely Joan v John, even though he'd be too much the gentleman to fight and they'd end up going out for tea to compare notes on their freaky partners.
Thank heavens Elementary turned out wonderful. We get twice as much Holmes/Watson greatness. :happybounce:

I was prepared to dislike it but I actually think that it has nuance in ways that Sherlock doesn't. The Sherlock of Sherlock is a static asshole--the character doesn't change much. This is not to say that Sherlock, as portrayed by Cumberbatch, is wrong or poorly done. Totally the opposite. He is a wonderful actor who really breathes a lot of life into the character. But the two Sherlocks are different--and Miller's Sherlock does change, evolve, deal with being an addict, which I think adds a lot of wonderful dimentionality to the CBS version. I love both series, so it really pisses me off when the BBC fans get snotty about Elementary.

John Watson is military trained so I think it would be close, but I think Joan Watson would fight dirtier and smarter. Also, she seems waaay better at the medical stuff than John.

We've also had a lot more time to get to know the characters, Imagine what Sherlock could be like with 22 ep seasons.
I've really been digging the Mycroft stuff from this season too. Rhys Ifans is awesome!

John and Joan would skip the bout in favor of chatting each other up at a pub.

maybe the bout is a debate at the pub!

Ekhem, John got military training. Joan only basic self-defense.

you had me when i saw "big Jonny Lee Miller fan since Eli Stone"

"Adler Productions" I see what you did there. She would definitely pay to get two Sherlocks battling it out, brainy being the new sexy and all. At least the BBC Irene, I haven't watched Elementary.

She's only been mentioned in Elementary. and technically dead (until they do the obvious "she ain't dead! bumbum buuuum!)

Irene Adler on Elementary turned out to be Moriarty.  i like the gender switch.  I think neither Sherlocks are terrible good.  But for a pre format CBS thing it can be fun.

Good work here!  Your stuff is awesome.

I really liked the Adler/Moriarty switch up on Elementary. It was clever and I didn't see it coming.

Thanks much
