The concept of the game is simple: Dr. Gordon Freeman escapes City 17 and finds a world overrun by the Combine. He also encounters a large resistance force lead by survivors and renegade Combine. This game, along with a couple of episodes thrown in for good measure, would bring closure to the Half-Life series, making it a trilogy.
