Draw Wednesdays - Week 12: Uniforms by Kurumi-Lover Draw Wednesdays - Week 12: Uniforms by Kurumi-Lover
After the cancellation of Draw Fridays in early 2016 at Funimation, later that year we restarted with "Draw Wednesdays" instead! Starting with the third week on, I did them 100% digitally instead of mixed media, yeah!

Week 12 was "Uniforms," and after waiting so many years to draw fan art for one of my most beloved series of all time, I finally decided to go with it for this. I wish I had drawn more characters, but I really wanted to focus on the twins in the Angel Morte uniforms. Takano in her nurse outfit would've also been great, but I never have time to draw or focus on my drawings anymore.

All the characters look fantastic in this drawing and everything else looks just superb, Jon! ;)

I know nothing about this Anime, but it sure looks like it's fun to watch! :D :)

Thanks so much!
If you can handle watching these children getting butchered over and over again in a tragic Groundhog Day scenario, then probably fun, yes <:

So is there a reason Rena is trying to take Mion home and not Shion?

I mean, Shion is def better, but wouldn't you rather take home your gruff, manly female friend who never really dresses cute instead of the one that's always looking cute? <:

Looks wonderful!  That is some seriously long hair; hope they don't get it caught in something.

Higurashi - Rena Excited  Absolutely beautiful~!
Yes, Higurashi Is also one of my all-time favourite series~!  ^w^
No Satoko I see.  I guess there wasn't enough room for her?.
Is it just a coincidence that you happened to post this on the same day that the third episode of Last Period aired?  The one which features a cameo from the Higurashi crew?  Higurashi - Club Charge

Thank you! <:
It's actually one of mine as well, though I don't talk about it as much since I feel like me and the other fans I've talked to like it for... um... very different reasons lol.
I actually hate Satoko with a burning passion, so I just left her out 1:
And yeah, sadly just a coincidence. It was Wednesday, and this was just the next illustration haha.
And holy shit, I had to look that up, and they all look SO GOOD in that anime! Satoko was redesigned the heaviest I feel. But man, it was so good. And when they leave, omg

I think I know what you mean when you say very different reasons and (assuming I'm understanding you) I may be guilty of it myself, though not to as great an extent as some people.  =_=

I don't hate Satoko, but I can understand why one would.  That said, I like her the least out of the other kids.

Their designs in that anime looked good but I was constantly put off by Keiichi's yellow eyes, mainly because I've seen promotional art of him for his cameo in the mobile game, and his eyes were blue there.
Too bad Rika was the only character who got any dialogue since her seiyuu also voices the little white-haired girl in that show, it'd been cool if the others got some lines.

I mean, it's totally fine for you to like something for whatever reason you personally like it, but it gets so frustrating when I want to talk about the story and how tragic yet beautiful it is and the character interactions that make me love these characters and how it's inspired me and stuff, and then someone chimes in with "YO, THESE DEATH SCENES ARE SO WHACK, EDGEY STUFF HERE" and it's like "That... That's not the point I'm trying to make." It just makes it hard to relate to these other fans lol (I mean, I get it. I grew up watching Genocyber and Devilman and Ninja Scroll and all that. I can handle gore and shit, but why just focus on that like it's the only selling point of the show? hahaha)
It's like when I tried to get into Umineko and tried the anime first, and the only people I could talk to about it were more interested in the murders and gore shown in than to talk with me about the characters and plot.

I feel I lived a life really close to Satoko, so her arcs tend to hit too close to home, but how she handles them is always so... so bad. It's really frustrating for me hahaha. I do like when she's useful as a character, but she's just so obnoxious to me in the end.

And yeah, his eyes were the one thing that kinda shocked me, but it looked oh, so good!!
It was kind of a bummer; reminded me a lot of Bob's Burgers/Archer crossover where only Linda got to talk and I was like "Please let these other characters talk... let the kids talk..." but they never did orz

Ah okay.  Well as much as I like the scary, violent stuff in Higurashi and Umineko ('specially the manga), I wouldn't go quite so far as to let it overshadow any meaningful conversations one might have about the story or characters.  You won't see me butting in to a conversation about the series, shouting "SO MORE DEATH!!!  SO BIG!!!".

Truthfully, Higurashi is quite possibly the only series nowadays that's still capable of moving me.  Even though I've read/watched it plenty of times, I still well up a little bit during various more tender scenes.  Like the end of Minagoroshi where the ghosts of the children manifest around Hanyuu and encourage her to aide them in the fight against their cruel fates which in turn allows Hanyuu to become a physical character from that point on.
