Spring time... by KuraiJinx Spring time... by KuraiJinx
A contest entry for a contest being held at MangaAnimeOtakuLove, Keito is calmingly walking around the park in a spring day(Something he doesn't usually do) and one of his schoolmates, Maya going on a jog in the opposite side. And there's something there coming towards the planet... A comet? Or maybe something else entirely...

Negatives: Well first thing that strikes me is that your marker or felt tip has been poorly used, especially on the trees. There's no real toning which makes this image look unrealistic. Your colouring also scruffy! they seem to go off in all angles. I suggest you keep to one direction. This image is supposed to show a spring theme. To me it looks more like autumn (Of fall if you're american) because you have leaves falling which are a orangy colour. There are no flowers. I would suggest making or more full of wildlife and bright colours varying in the background.

Positives: Your anatomy is pretty OK just a few adjustments to make. i like how you tried to add some patterns to your pathways and included a stone path into the forest. Your scale is very good and the positioning is great. the facial expressions are good. the hair designs and fringe are draw in good length and position. I also like how you tried to make a shadow under the girl.

Improvements: improve colouring techniques, anatomy, variation of colour and line art.

Side note: Your comet looks more like coconut that is about to hit your character XD. It would look better if it was white like the movies.

Oh and you're my competition in the spring contest! I submitted mine into the group. :3

Thanks a ton for your feedback, very appreciated. And yeah, there's a lot I need to improve, but then again, that's how life goes. You gotta pratice to be great, you can never expect instant talent in a snap of a finger. And dang, I knew I should've changed the color of the aura surrounding the falling character... And yes, it's a character and not a comet. :P XD Well, I tried. I really do not expect to win the contest, I only participated for fun, that's all. Then again, I never win anything. I'll do the best I can to improve all I can. Once again, thanks a lot for the feedback, I really needed it. Oh, and by the way, I'm Portuguese. From Portugal.

how long have you been drawing?

"I never win anything" wow haven't you won in anything at least sports day maybe??? I usually enter my school drawing competitions I tend to win every time. Once came second because I belonged to the same class as 3rd and 4th competitors, they didn't want to sem bias! Well they're being bias because of the classroom I came from. DX I need to challenge myself with higher ranked artist and not be afraid of losing. even though I lose a lot in other things art is something I don't want to give up on!

Just helping out :D

oh I'm pretty sure most people speak American English NOT English English. And yes there are two types of English the real one and American one. Don't know why most of the world speak the american one :?

You're welcome.

I've been drawing for real for about 6 years or so. Ever since I was 10.

Well, I once made it third place in a Portuguese contest, if that counts as winning. I mean, it does, but I meant 1st place. But to be honest, I never go for 1st place or anything. I only want to have fun, to be honest.

Yeah, the way I speak English is reminiscent of the American English, not the British one. That's mainly due to the fact that most things I watch/read/hear/whatever are done in the American English, not the British one, despite the fact that, at school, they teach mostly British English, with bits of American English here and there.

6 years? I think I started when I was very young. I couldn't stop drawing. A tip for you work be to check out tutorials and practice really I almost draw once a week.before everyday. Course that counts ^_^ that must bevery confusing! Do you say canteen or cafeteria?

I've also been drawing since my babyhood, but I only drew with dedication starting when I was 10. Blame Sonic The Hedgehog.

I usually try to see some tutorials once in a while and I even get help from friends that draw better than me.

3rd place gets a prize, too, if I recall correctly. Meh, I'm satisfied with that.

Both words can be used.

Really sonic the hedgehog? I only became a serious writer because it. After that I thought I should go into comics and stuff. Never knew you saw sonic the hedgehog as well. My friends art styles are so different from mine I can really ask them. They don't really need anomaly for their stuff either. Yeah 3rd gets a position ^_^

If you see my gallery, most art I have has Sonic or my Sonic FC in them.

I started writing because I love to read. Any kind of book.

Never hurts to try and ask.

3rd place for the win.

One more thing, the reason I needed the feedback is because I was feeling really frustrated to be posting over and over again and not getting any feedback about what I have to change, what I have to improve on, all that jazz.
